SCOUT online entrepreneurship-education series, episode 1
What this piece covered
This is the first episode of the online entrepreneurship-education series made by the capital-region junior college group of SCOUT, a programme funded by Korea's Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation. Dongyang Mirae University leads the group, with Daelim, Seoil and Jaeneung taking part. The group commissioned the video and I sat for the interview at their request. It is teaching material for students, not a pitch or a case presentation.
The episode is about how I read a market and decide what to build. To explain where that came from, I also cover how I learned it. I wrote an Android app myself and shipped it on the Google Play Store at fourteen, and before that I spent every afternoon after school at the local computer shop, learning to code and learning how computers work.
The worked example is Rxly.ai. I go through how the problem was framed — the time a clinician spends writing up notes — and how that narrowed into a product that transcribes the consultation live and drafts the SOAP note from it.
